Job description

The Accounting Intern supports the CFO by performing basic accounting duties, assisting with financial record-keeping, and gaining exposure to tax preparation and compliance. This role provides practical experience in financial operations, reporting, and tax-related processes.

Key Responsibilities

· Assist with preparing and maintaining financial records and reports

· Perform data entry of financial transactions into accounting software

· Help reconcile bank statements and accounts

· Support accounts payable and receivable processes

· Assist in preparing invoices, expense reports, and journal entries

· Organize and file financial documents (physical and digital)

· Help with month-end and year-end closing activities

· Conduct basic financial analysis and research as needed

· Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards

· Assist with preparation of tax documents and filings

· Support tax research and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations

· Help organize and maintain tax records and documentation

· Assist during tax season with data collection and entry



Requirements

· Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

· Basic understanding of accounting principles (GAAP preferred)

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
