Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm
Job Summary: The Accounting Assistant II maintains accurate financial records. Provides accounting and bookkeeping support. Assists University staff in understanding industry standards, current laws, and university policy as it relates to the financial affairs of the University. Provides guidance and trains entry-level Accounting Assistants.
Additional Department Summary: Supports daily operation of Institute of Data and Analytics (IDA). Assists with budget reporting and maintenance. Aids in the facilitation of business and research meetings. Manages logistic functions for IDA faculty, staff, and visitors. Supports the Culverhouse Associate Dean of Faculty and Research. Prepares financial paperwork to include ePAs, MDVs, and DTAs. Assists with travel reimbursements, monthly account reconciliations, P-card reconciliations, room reservations, coordinating meetings, and purchasing supplies.
Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of accounting or bookkeeping experience; OR associate's degree or higher.
Skills and Knowledge: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of Microsoft suite of office products. Ability to multi-task. Ability to be self-motivated. Ability to prioritize workflow and work with individuals at all levels. Ability to be customer and service oriented.
