Description:
The Accountant maintains and analyzes financial records, ensuring the accuracy and compliance of an organization's financial activities. They are responsible for managing general ledgers, reconciling accounts, preparing financial statements (like P&L and balance sheets), and assisting with audits and tax filings.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Assist in preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliation, highlight and rectify any anomalies encountered
โ€ข Prepare and analyze journal entries
โ€ข Assist in reviewing accuracy of journal entries and accounting classification
โ€ข Review posting issues and resolve errors
โ€ข Compare accounting system outputs with input verifying for accuracy and resolving discrepancies
โ€ข Assist with monthly, quarterly and year end close activities as assigned
โ€ข Support supervisor with audit requests
โ€ข Other miscellaneous accounting functions as needed
Qualifications:
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
โ€ข Seven years accounting experience for a federal contractor: some management experience preferred.
โ€ข Five years of accounting experience with Deltek Costpoint.
โ€ข At least a level 3 out of 5 competency with Microsoft Office (Excel/Word).
โ€ข Experience with a multi-company environment and intercompany transactions
