The Encompass Group is partnering with a well-established real estate development company to hire a Senior Project Accountant to join their growing corporate accounting team.


This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with experience in real estate development or a similar project-driven industry who enjoys project accounting, financial reporting, and collaborating across multiple business units. Candidates with a foundation in public accounting, particularly audit, will be especially well-positioned for success.


You’ll work alongside experienced accounting leaders, including multiple CPAs with decades of industry expertise, while supporting large-scale real estate development projects from inception through completion.

Position Overview


As the Senior Project Accountant, you’ll support the financial accounting and reporting for multiple real estate development entities while partnering closely with project managers, engineers, and executive leadership.


Responsibilities include:



  • Prepare financial statements and quarterly GAAP reporting

  • Manage project accounting for multiple development entities

  • Support external audits and loan draw processes

  • Maintain project schedules, reconciliations, and financial reporting

  • Review project-related AP, lot sales, and commercial transactions

  • Partner with project teams and leadership to support ongoing developments


Qualifications & Preferences



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience

  • 2+ years of public accounting experience, preferably in Audit

  • Experience in real estate development or a similar project-driven industry

  • Horizontal land development or project accounting experience preferred

  • Sage 300 CRE (Timberline) experience preferred

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
