Overview
Triple-S Steel is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our corporate accounting team in Houston. This is a high-visibility role that works closely with the Controller and has direct exposure to senior leadership, including the CFO, Senior Vice President of Finance, and Director of Financial Reporting.
The ideal candidate brings strong GAAP knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and experience supporting month-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and process improvements. This position plays a key role in the preparation of consolidated financial statements and financial reporting activities across multiple locations within a growing organization.

Responsibilities
What You'll Do
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate account variances
  • Assist with the preparation of consolidated financial statements, including intercompany eliminations and foreign currency translation adjustments
  • Analyze financial results and provide reporting support to management
  • Prepare bank, credit card, and retail account reconciliations
  • Research and document technical accounting matters and GAAP guidance
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures
  • Support external audits and other compliance-related initiatives
  • Collaborate with tax, operations, and finance teams on various accounting matters
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and reporting accuracy
  • Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analysis

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred
  • CPA designation
  • Experience with consolidated financial reporting
  • Public accounting, audit, or internal audit experience
  • Experience within distribution, manufacturing, industrial, or related industries
  • Knowledge of Power BI and ERP systems
  • Experience with multi-entity or multi-location organizations
