Job description

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for supporting the timely and accurate processing of all payroll related operations. The Payroll Specialist must understand all organizational payroll related policies and procedures and State and Federal taxation and reporting requirements to be become competent.  The Payroll Specialist will serve as a superuser in all payroll systems, including time and attendance, scheduling, and payroll processing. This position also provides accounting, auditing, analytic, project management and various executive administrative support functions.  They will routinely support key organizational programs for which their respective leaders are actively involved.

Minimum Education

  • Associate’s Degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent experience.

Minimum Work Experience

  • 3 – 5 years of related payroll, accounting or finance experience.
  • Previous healthcare experience preferred.

Required Licenses/Certifications

  • CPP designation preferred.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Microsoft Desktop application skills (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Report writing and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and routinely handle confidential data and information.
