Job Description

Grace is seeking a Manager, Corporate Accounting to join our Controller team in Columbia, MD. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Global Accounting & Reporting, this role will lead key corporate accounting processes and support financial reporting activities across a global organization. The successful candidate will partner with cross-functional teams, provide technical accounting expertise, and drive process improvements while ensuring accurate and timely accounting and financial reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review a variety of quarterly and annual financial statement disclosures, including calculation and reconciliation of the statement of cash flows.
  • Serve as primary contact for external auditors and manage quarterly review process.
  • Manage global pension accounting activities in partnership with external actuaries, Human Resources, and regional finance teams.
  • Oversee annual ERISA benefit plan audits and related financial statement preparation.
  • Direct accounting activities related to insurance programs, including workers compensation and employee health & welfare plans.
  • Partner with stakeholders to prepare monthly legacy cost forecasts.
  • Coordinate with Tax, Treasury, and regional Controllership teams around the world to ensure alignment and timely deliverables.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and analytics to ensure completeness and accuracy, including presenting variance analysis to management on a quarterly basis.
  • Research, interpret, and implement U.S. GAAP guidance for complex or non-routine transactions.
  • Support special projects and other corporate accounting initiatives as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 6+ years of experience in public accounting and/or a multinational corporate accounting environment
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience managing complex accounting processes
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple functions
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA license
  • Experience with pension, insurance, or employee benefit accounting
  • SAP and related reporting and planning tools
  • Experience with Workiva financial reporting platform
  • Track record of leading process improvement and automation initiatives
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled productivity and financial reporting tools
