Senior Accountant - Business Manager
Large accounting and consulting firm in west Los Angeles providing the services of a large firm with a blended environment of practices, services and industry specializations
The firm takes pride in client service and professional and personal advancement, as demonstrated by our programs which promotes a culture of learning and growth through targeted development and leadership programs together with a continual focus on client service and technological evolvement.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Interacts with clients on a frequent basis (i.e. daily, weekly or monthly), as needed under the scope of each engagement.
  • Ensures that recurring accounting duties as required in accordance with engagement scope are timely performed. These include but are not limited to posting accounts payable, posting account receivable transactions, paying vendor and expenses due, depositing checks, ensuring all bank transactions are properly recorded, maintaining the general ledger, and preparing payroll for (third party) processing.
  • Prepares month end reporting packages, within required timelines, under either an accruals (US GAAP or IFRS) or cash basis, as needed.
  • Analyzes and assesses month end reporting packages and/or client financial data as needed. Identifies negative or favorable trends in (i.e.) gross margins, sales volumes, expenditures and working capital requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5 years of accounting experience.
  • Proven and thorough understanding of double entry accounting. Demonstrated performance of accounting tasks (both processing of transactions and maintenance of accounting records).
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate (i.e., read, write, speak) with business level fluency in English.
  • Self starter; proven ability to identify issues and recommend solutions. Ability to work well within a team as well as independently when required.
