Position Summary:
Reporting to the Vice president of Sales, US and Canda, in addition to established account relationship work this remote role will have a high degree of focus on robotics and aerospace Customer development within the Western sales region. The individual may be asked to support specific account development for these two key market segments outside of his/her primary region as well. The role entails management of all sales activities including direct selling and other business processes associated with managing the territory. A strong connection between Customers, senior management, and Gleason manufacturing sites is required.
Job Responsibilities
  • Promotion, negotiation and sale of all Gleason Corporation products and services
  • Complete territory management
  • Development and implementation of strategic sales plans to grow Gleason's market share
  • Develop and maintain positive customer relationships through regular face-to-face customer visits and interactions
  • Extensive travel required (75%)
  • Proactive analysis of customer needs and issues; utilizing formalized problem solving techniques to drive continuous improvement activities
  • Assists sales management in planning, establishment of goals, selling strategies, and market planning activities
  • Detailed pre-sales and post-sales follow-up including reporting requirements in CRM and ERP systems
  • Communication of Customer and Market needs to Gleason teams (VOC)
  • Support of the business plans of our manufacturing sites and the Corporation, including meeting booking goals
  • Willingness to relocate if necessary (relocation assistance may be provided)

Desired Skills, Experience and Education
  • Field sales and account management experience
  • Industry knowledge and experience in robotics and aerospace manufacturing markets strongly preferred
  • Strong business development experience in these markets is also preferred
  • Industrial manufacturing technical background and experience
  • Ability to read prints and interpret gear manufacturing drawings
  • Ability to read measurement equipment and devices
  • High degree of computer literacy
  • Demonstrates business management experience and skill
  • Working knowledge and familiarity of cylindrical and bevel gear manufacturing
  • Knowledge of Gleason Corporation technologies, processes, products and services preferred
  • Strong Presentation Skills required
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Business, Market Development)
