Better Health Market is a dynamic and growing Natural Food Grocery company that is looking for a talented and experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. We are locally owned and operated and are looking for a dedicated professional to help drive our financial success. This position is based out of our headquarters in Novi, MI and is in person.

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist with experience in QuickBooks to manage our accounts payable functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in processing invoices, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring timely and accurate payments using QuickBooks. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about contributing to a high-performing finance team, we want to hear from you!

  • Process and review invoices for accuracy, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Utilize QuickBooks to manage and maintain accounts payable records, including data entry and transaction processing.
  • Manage and maintain vendor relationships, addressing any discrepancies or issues in a professional manner.
  • Prepare and execute payment runs, including checks, ACH transfers, and wire transfers.
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals and account reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting principles and best practices.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
