THE ROLE

Berg Enterprises is hiring an Account Manager to own the front end of our opportunity lifecycle — from identifying new work to delivering winning proposals. This role is the engine of our business development pipeline.

Based in Houston, you will build and maintain client relationships across the federal and defense HVAC & plumbing sector, qualify opportunities, and drive pursuits from lead through proposal submission. You are the person who makes sure we are chasing the right work — and winning it.

What This Means

Lead Identification & Sourcing

Find and pursue new project opportunities through market research, industry networks, and government procurement channels.

Lead Qualification (ICP Fit)

Bid / No-Bid Decision

Build the business case and drive go/no-go decisions with leadership. Present risk, margin, and strategic fit.

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients. Build trust, understand their needs, and position Berg as the preferred partner.

Pre-Proposal RFIs

Respond to Requests for Information, coordinate technical inputs, and keep Berg visible during the pre-solicitation phase.

Proposal Writing & Delivery

Own the proposal process end to end — coordinate contributors, write and compile the submission, and deliver on time.

Go-to-Market / Mobilization Planning

Develop mobilization strategies and go-to-market plans that translate a won contract into a successful project launch.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • 5+ years in HVAC, mechanical, or plumbing construction with direct business development or account management experience.

  • Proven track record of identifying, qualifying, and winning project opportunities in the federal/defense sector.

  • Strong proposal writing skills — you can build a compelling, compliant submission.

  • Ability to communicate technical scope and project value to both clients and internal leadership.

  • Proficiency with CRM platforms, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Bluebeam.
