Description
We are looking for an Account Manager - Automotive to be based out of our Madison Heights, MI sales office, to pursue relationships with potential new accounts and identify business opportunities to introduce products to current and new businesses. The Account Manager will also be a key player in driving retention and growth among customers by understanding their business needs and helping them succeed.
Accountabilities:
  • Pursue new application opportunities with customer Purchasing, Engineering and Advanced Development personnel via business appointment visitations, phone/e-mail contact and entertainment. Develop quote opportunities. Close new business for incremental market share and revenue.
  • Negotiate pricing and services with customers to obtain a win-win situation for the customer and JSP.
  • Prompt and accurate internal reporting of sales calls, month end sales news and any information vital to the reputation, service and satisfaction of our customers.
  • Constant presence and participation at customer requested training sessions, meetings, recognition activities and programs.
  • Hands-on philosophy when working on process or design improvement activities either initiated by JSP or customer for value engineering and value analysis purposes. Annual price review processes with customers and sales management.

Requirements
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business or Technical field
  • 3+ years' experience working with OEM's and/or Tier 1 suppliers
  • 2+ years demonstrated experience in negotiation.
  • Prior experience with understanding of automotive industry selling process; hands on working knowledge of auto industry protocols and selling cycles.
  • Must be autonomous, responsible, reliable, and self-motivated
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required with attention to detail critical
