Job description

What you will do

  • Review architectural drawings, project specifications, and work scopes to prepare estimates.
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs of all materials, accessories, and labor.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to review bid requests, clarify scope, and ensure accuracy in pricing.
  • Analyze material and labor costs, factoring in waste and installation complexity.
  • Provide value engineering options when applicable to maximize efficiency and cost savings.
  • Preparing winning proposals and supporting documentation for customer presentations.
  • Input and maintain data in estimating software and company systems (such as PlanSwift, Airtable, and Dropbox).
  • Partner with field managers to support project handoff and resolve estimating discrepancies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product and service prices and offerings

What We Are Looking For
Required:

  • Strong knowledge of estimating software (PlanSwift, Bluebeam, Onscreen or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of siding materials (fiber cement, vinyl, engineered wood, etc.) and installation methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines.

Preferred:

  • High school diploma (Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred)
  • 3+ years of construction estimating experience (siding, exterior cladding, or related trades preferred).
