Job description

The EPC Manager is responsible for developing and executing Applied Control's strategic engagement with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firms across the region. This role serves as the primary relationship owner for key EPC accounts and is responsible for influencing projects from specification through execution, while driving collaboration across all Applied Control business units. The position requires extensive project management expertise, a deep understanding of industrial automation and flow control technologies, strong knowledge of Emerson's product portfolio and organizational structure, and the ability to coordinate resources across multiple business units, manufacturers, engineering firms, end users, and contractors.

The EPC Manager acts as a strategic connector between customers, Emerson, Applied Control business units, and industry partners to ensure Applied Control is positioned early in project development and remains engaged throughout the project lifecycle.

EPC Account Manager Key Responsibilities:

Strategic EPC Account Management

  • Develop and maintain executive, engineering, procurement, and project management relationships within assigned EPC accounts.
  • Create and execute annual account plans for strategic EPC customers.
  • Drive specification influence activities to position Applied Control and Emerson technologies early in project development.
  • Identify and qualify capital projects, maintenance opportunities, and emerging programs within assigned accounts.
  • Maintain visibility into project pipelines, funding status, awards, and execution schedules.

EPC Account Manager Project Leadership & Project Management:

  • Serve as the commercial lead for large and complex EPC-led projects.
  • Coordinate internal resources and business units throughout all project phases, including:
    • FEED Studies
    • Conceptual Design
    • Detailed Engineering
    • Procurement
    • Construction
    • Startup & Commissioning
  • Lead project opportunity reviews, strategy development, and risk assessments.

EPC Account Manager Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, construction management, or a related technical discipline preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in industrial automation, process control, flow control, EPC project execution, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large, multi-disciplinary industrial projects.
  • Strong understanding of capital project execution processes within industrial markets.

EPC Account Manager Physical Requirements:

This role is primarily performed in mixture of a professional office environment and a plant or construction site. Must be able to walk, stand, sit, stoop, bend, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally lift or carry moderate weight, up to 25lbs, for short distances.

This role will require the use of personal protective equipment or PPE when on customer sites and a strong awareness of safety risks.

EPC Account Manager Compensation and Benefits:

This role will pay based on a mixture of fixed and variable compensation, with target compensation, at plan, based in Centennial CO, ranging between $130,000 - $150,000. The role has the potential to increase compensation significantly with strong performance via a sales accelerator. The role is also able to participate in companywide incentive and discretionary bonus plans.

Compensation will be determined based on directly applicable experience and capabilities so may vary from these posting ranges.

This role offers an opportunity to participate in our standard benefit plan, which includes multiple medical options, dental, vision, life and disability insurance. The role also offers a 401K offering, with a company match, a generous PTO plan and voluntary participation in our 9/80 working schedule. This schedule generally offers a 3-day weekend every other week, as customer need and workloads permit.
