Job Summary

The Manager Business Development works with the Hospital Financial Officer. They create business development processes for Baylor to add or grow programs in new or existing markets. This position will research, assess, and develop business cases and plans for new programs, services, or projects. They will also establish and maintain relationships with Senior Management, Department Directors, and Physicians. This promotes involvement in and help of new programs and projects within Baylor Scott & White Health.

*This role is based in Temple, TX with the requirement of traveling to the Waco facility once per week. (Mileage reimbursement included)

Essential Functions of the Role
  • Work with Planning and Marketing Development on new programs and services. Develop a focused, effective plan that promotes the hospital's strategic plan. This includes creating and directing a well-organized approach for new business and service development initiatives.
  • Help Senior Management implement strategies for new business development and joint ventures. Coordinate data collection, compilation, and examination to support management outcomes. Identify improvement opportunities during program and service line reviews. Recommend process improvements for evaluating services or increasing awareness.
  • Gather and measure relevant benchmarking data to evaluate the effectiveness of current or future services and programs.
  • Develop financial review, evaluate findings, and write business plans. Present these plans to the Senior Administrative Team. Once established, manage the progress of the new business strategy and goals set by the Senior Administrative Team.
  • Work with the Director of Marketing to gather health care market intelligence. This will help in strategy development and promote awareness about hospital programs and services for physicians.
  • Serve as the internal contact for staff, physicians, and others. Inform them about ongoing development and implementation of strategic initiatives and programs.
