Job description

IAT Insurance Group has an immediate opening for a Supervisor of Account Management within our Surety department from our Scottsdale, Arizona location.
This role will lead a team of 7-9 Account Managers to deliver exceptional service aligned with the organization's Guiding Principles. Furthermore, it will oversee the daily operations, ensure compliance with company standards, and provide training and development for both new and existing employees. It also will serve as a primary point of contact for customers, delivering high-quality service and support while acting as a liaison between clients and internal stakeholders and will Maintain strong awareness of client activities and provides ongoing support to underwriting functions to ensure client needs are effectively met.
This role works a hybrid schedule that requires working from the office Monday through Wednesday, with the option of working Thursday and Friday remotely.
Responsibilities:
  • Provides leadership to assigned staff by:
    • Leading organizational change
    • Developing and empowering staff
    • Cultivating strong relationships
    • Positioning staff for success by aligning personal career goals with organizational goals
    • Building effective, diverse teams to achieve common goals
    • Driving engagement and fostering a motivating work environment
  • Manages workflow and oversees the product output of account management staff
  • Provides training and ongoing development opportunities for the account management team
  • Assists the field underwriting team in achieving annual financial goals, exercising judgment within authority limits to pursue profitable business opportunities
  • Fosters and maintains collaborative relationships with internal and external customers
  • Willing and able to travel up to 15-20% for meetings and training delivery across various locations
  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications:
Must-Have:
  • 5 years of Account Manager experience
  • Knowledge of Underwriting support processes and procedures, basic mathematics and problem-solving techniques.
  • Strong keyboarding skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills used for interaction with all levels of associates and/or external sources in a variety of settings.
  • Strong PC skills required.
  • Must be detail and action oriented.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced and deadline-driven production environment.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to set and maintain priorities.
  • Ability to adapt to change
  • To qualify, applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require VISA sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment purposes.

Preferred to Have:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Leadership experience
  • Surety industry experience
