Job description

SUMMARY:

The Senior Account Executive is responsible for assisting in the production of new and renewal accounts in keeping with agency and individual producer goals and providing in-depth risk management support for high-profile customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Market, service, development, and retention objectives, as well as a targeted mix of business, underwriting guidelines, and volume
  • Market, service, develop and retain assigned accounts. Meet established account development and retention objectives, as well as a targeted mix of business, underwriting guidelines, and volume commitments
  • Perform risk analysis surveys, obtain renewal information, complete applications, obtain markets, deliver policies, coordinate efforts of loss control or other services, and resolve service problems including research for compliance and industry changes that affect the customer and the policies in force
  • Retain and develop accounts by making recommendations regarding risk handling to the Producer and/or Customer. Seek the most cost-effective requested insurance coverages, prepare proposals, evaluate and recommend other lines of coverage, and provide additional resources for the client as needed, including but not limited to due diligence on behalf of the customer for mergers and acquisitions
  • Negotiate with the insurance companies for the most proper coverage options
  • Assist the Producer in preparing/making presentations of insurance programs to key accounts/prospects including but not limited to Stewardship Reports and RFPs
  • Ability to conduct renewal meetings with customers on behalf of the producer
  • Ability to present renewal proposals independently of the producer
  • Ability to handle a book of business with limited or no producer direction
  • Includes Sales/production skills for new or specialized coverages/marketing
  • Large Account Enterprise Management
  • Keep abreast of all new sales programs
  • Review all activities relating to the public, customers, and companies to avoid issues involving potential errors and omissions
  • Refer current and prospective clients to the Employee Benefits Department and to the Personal Insurance Department for solicitation of those lines of business
  • Participate in seminars and other training to maintain required licenses and for knowledge and skill development.
  • Provide team leadership skills for Account Executives, Senior Account Managers, and Account Managers and assist in the Mentoring program established by the Department Manager
  • Assist the Department in meeting annual training goals for overall department education
  • Perform other duties as requested

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7-9 Years previous commercial lines/agency operations experience, focusing on large commercial lines and/or high-profile commercial lines customers preferred
  • 2-4 Years of previous Account Executive experience preferred
  • Resident Insurance Agent/Producer License for operating state Property and Casualty (or the ability to quickly obtain) required
  • Bachelor's degree in business or other related discipline preferred
  • CPCU, CIC, CRIS, CRM, ARM, or other related designations preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS AND REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS:

  • Fast-paced, multi-tasking, office environment with periodic high disruption and changing priorities
  • Ability to perform approximately 80% sedentary work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and negligible force frequently
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally
  • Requires operation of a computer workstation, including keyboard and video display
