Stan Hywet: Events Manager- Public Events

The Event Manager – Public Events is responsible for the planning, development, and execution of public events at Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens. This role creates engaging programs that support community engagement, increase visitation, generate earned revenue, and enhance the estate’s reputation as a premier cultural destination while protecting its historic resources.

The Public Events Manager oversees the full event lifecycle, including concept development, budgeting, logistics, vendor and staff coordination, on-site event management, and post-event evaluation. Working collaboratively with Marketing, Visitor Experience, Development, Security, Plant Management, and Finance, the manager ensures events are safe, successful, financially responsible, and aligned with the organization's mission and strategic goals.

This position also advances Stan Hywet’s commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) by creating welcoming, accessible, and inclusive experiences for all visitors.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in event planning, cultural programming, hospitality, or a related field.
  • Strong skills in event planning, budgeting, operations, vendor management, and team leadership.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and project management abilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
