This ICU Clinical Supervisor Registered Nurse (RN) opportunity is full time at 36 hours per week on our ICU Unit.  This position offers full benefits and a convenient night shift schedule. This position performs a dual function, clinical and managerial. Provides direct and indirect patient care in the clinical setting, performs disciplinary actions, participates in hiring and termination of staff.  Communicates with physicians/Nurse Manager/co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patientโ€™s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.  Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. 

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Formulates a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning, family is included in teaching as appropriate
  • Competent in the care of patients within the specialty area.
  • Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain.  Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques.  Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.
  • Ability to revise plan of care as indicated by the patientโ€™s response to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily for effectiveness.

Qualifications
  • Current NV State Registered Nurse Licensure.
  • A minimum of 3 yearsโ€™ nursing experience.
  • Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certification as appropriate for department specific.
  • Specialty Certification preferred.
  • Bachelors in Nursing preferred or enrolled in an accredited program within one-year of employment or transfer into supervisor role.
