Summary 

Product Analyst II is responsible for product development and maintenance including identifying trends in product experience and making appropriate recommendations. This role will have a focus on compliance ensuring regulatory compliance primarily in insurance policy form development, form and rate filing, and other regulatory compliance areas such a service contract filings. Assist in the administration and development of company products, systems, and reports in such a manner to support the specialized protection and financial security provided to our customers.

What You'll Do

  • Ability to work on complex problems/projects where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors 
  • Support Product Management by accurately creating, preparing and maintaining ad hoc, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports and dashboards to monitor performance of JM Group products and initiatives 
  • Schedules and submits filing of new or revised forms/rates/rules with the appropriate regulatory agencies, using industry tools to determine current filing requirements for each state.   
  • Works with forms, product, and other specialists as needed to construct filing transmittal forms, memorandums, supporting documentation, and exhibits.  
  • Monitor marketplace for emerging opportunities, risks/issues; as well as performance and actions of direct competitors 
  • Proactively analyzing data and identifying trends, areas of opportunity, and presenting findings to Product Management 
  • Present and support recommendations for enhancements/restrictions for JMSI, JMIC and/or General Agency products (new and existing) 
  • Ability to query data via creation of queries leveraging existing queries, as well as from scratch 
  • Participate in testing and QA work of: (i) changes to organizational data structure, (ii) products enhancements, and (iii) new products 
  • Draft form language, create/manage SERFF filings, and assist with the review of circulars/state regulatory updates 
  • Assist in updating and pre-deployment verification of JMIC rating tables and algorithms 
  • Represent or lead the department and company on projects and committees as assigned

Minimum Qualifications  

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree required 
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience (an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered) 
  • Minimum of 1 year Property & Casualty insurance background experience  
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and SharePoint), particularly with data manipulation and pivot tables 
  • Experience with PowerPivot, SQL, PowerBI, and/or other query/reporting skills 
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to identify and translate data into actionable opportunities 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills  
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policy forms, technical procedures, government regulations, and financial reports  
  • Good interpersonal skills; ability to work autonomously and build relationships across levels  
  • Team-oriented with excellent collaboration skills  
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills  
  • Critical thinking, problem solving, and data analysis skills 

Preferred Qualifications  

  • Experience with PowerPivot, SQL, PowerBI, and/or other query/reporting skills
