Lead Access Control Technician

Location: Bentonville, Arkansasย 

Department: Field Services

Reports To: Field Services Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary

This role is ideal for seasonal technicians with Access Control & Security experience. Our technicians & electricians work on nationwide deployments, infrastructure upgrades, and large-scale rollouts for some of the world's largest brands, gaining exposure to the latest networking technologies and installation practices. This role is dispatched from home, meaning you can live anywhere within the region and travel directly to project sites. Reporting directly to our Field Services Manager of the region, this role will require travel to any US state as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strict adherence to safety standards and ensure everyone goes home.
  • Lead the installation, configuration, and commissioning of electronic access control systems, including controllers, card readers, request-to-exit devices, door contacts, and electrified locking hardware.
  • Manufacture certifications & training on systems such as Avigilon, Kantech, DSX, Honeywell, Bosch, etc.
  • Network & device configurations with the ability to troubleshoot and remedy connectivity issues.
  • Manage and accurately log time, expenses, material, & field resources throughout project lifecycles.
  • Manage work orders, signoff deliverables, daily log / journal, and other project documentation, sometimes directly to customers, project management & leadership teams.
  • Management and maintenance of company assets & vehicle (if assigned).
Qualifications
  • Must demonstrate the highest standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Must understand and demonstrate a safety mindset in all settings.
  • Must have the ability to travel, often extensively and sometimes with little notice to anywhere in the United States for several weeks at a time.
  • Flexibility to work the hours of the traditional second and third shifts.
  • Strong client / people relationship skills
  • Must have at least one year of experience and an aptitude for technology and working with your hands.
  • Structured cabling and network infrastructure experience strongly preferred.
  • BISCI or other industry certifications are strongly preferred.
  • Phone, mobile application & PC proficiency required (Microsoft Office applications strongly preferred).
  • Ability to read and understand prints and schematics related to installation SOWs.
  • Must have a valid driver's license & be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • Meet company standards for pre-employment background checks and drug screening.
  • Typical physical demands include frequent work on lifts, ladders, and possibly rooftops and other harder-to-access areas.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with employees and / or clients; manual dexterity required for frequent reaching, climbing, and lifting of objects (typically up to 50 lbs.), and operating power tools.
  • Must have industry-standard hand tools.
