A growing field service and facility solutions company is seeking a skilled and dependable Gate & Access Control Technician to join its operations team in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role is ideal for a hands-on technician with experience in access control systems, automatic gates, low-voltage systems, or commercial maintenance.
The technician will work directly at commercial and self-storage facilities, performing installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of automated entry and security systems. The position requires strong technical aptitude, independent field work capability, and excellent problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair automatic gate systems and access control equipment
- Install, replace, and maintain keypads, sensors, controllers, and related hardware
- Perform preventive maintenance on gate operators, security systems, and facility equipment
- Work with low-voltage wiring and electrical components
- Service camera systems, DVRs, and surveillance-related equipment
- Maintain accurate service documentation and update work orders through mobile service software
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams, customers, and property managers
- Organize daily field assignments and manage service schedules efficiently
- Ensure all work is completed safely, professionally, and according to company standards
Required Qualifications
- Experience in access control systems, gate systems, security systems, low-voltage wiring, or related field service work
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently in field environments
- Comfortable using mobile devices, apps, and service management software
- Valid driverโs license with a clean driving record
- Willingness to travel throughout the assigned service region
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automatic gate operators and automation systems
- Familiarity with DoorKing, LiftMaster, PTI, or similar platforms
- Knowledge of camera systems and DVR installation/troubleshooting
- Commercial maintenance or facility service experience
- Welding, fabrication, or metalwork experience is an advantage
