Overview:
VectorUSA is looking for a Senior Lead Access Control Technician to join our Physical Security Department. This senior-level position is designed for an experienced and certified professional with at least 7 years of hands-on experience in access control system programming, installation, and integration.

In this role, you will lead the implementation of enterprise-level access control solutions-from hardware setup to software programming-across high-security environments such as schools, hospitals, ports, and government facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all aspects of access control system installation and programming, including configuration of readers, controllers, panels, locksets, and software platforms.
  • Install, program, and integrate access control systems such as Identiv/Hirsch, HID, AMAG, and related technologies.
  • Configure and troubleshoot access control networks, hardware devices, and software components.
  • Perform system commissioning, testing, and validation to ensure optimal performance.
  • Execute system upgrades, firmware updates, and software patches.
  • Conduct site surveys and work closely with engineers to design tailored access control solutions.
  • Maintain documentation, drawings, and configuration records for each project.
  • Mentor and guide field technicians on installation standards, best practices, and programming methods.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, electrical, and security standards.
  • Provide occasional support for video surveillance system integration when applicable.
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in access control installation, configuration, and programming.
  • Proven experience with enterprise-level systems (Identiv/Hirsch, AMAG, HID, or similar).
  • Required Access Control Certification: Manufacturer-specific certification or equivalent - Brivo, Verkada, Identiv Hirsch, or SALTO
  • Strong background in low-voltage systems, wiring standards, and electronic security.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with hardware and software.
  • Familiarity with network configuration and IP-based system integration.
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and leadership abilities.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of VMS integration (Milestone, Avigilon, Verkada, etc.).
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Experience leading or supervising technical installation teams.

Physical Requirements:
The essential functions of this role may require:
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs.
  • Climbing ladders and accessing elevated areas up to 6 feet.
  • Bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Standing or walking for extended periods during installation or site work.
