Job description

Access Control Officer

Action is seeking an Access Control Officer to join our team at our luxury residential community, Savina located in San Diego.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the general manager, the Access Control Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the property. They maintain a constant security presence, patrol common areas, and enforce HOA rules. The Access Control Officer also provides concierge services to residents and guests.

Schedule: Monday - Friday; 2 PM to 10:30 PM

Compensation: $21 to $23 per hour

Job Duties
  • Conduct regular inspections of the property, including the building perimeter, hallways, and stairwells.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and report suspicious activity.
  • Respond to disturbances and emergencies as needed.
  • Coordinate resident moves and ensure common areas are protected.
  • Operate the elevator control system to direct visitors to the correct floors.
  • Greet residents, guests, and visitors at the kiosk in a welcoming manner.
  • Answer phones and provide information to callers.
  • Maintain the appearance of the lobby, elevators, and package room.
  • Assist residents with package delivery and retrieval.
  • Document discrepancies, incidents, and emergency responses.
  • Complete daily activity reports and pass-on logs.
  • Maintain inventory of forms, supplies, and other items.
  • Adhere to HOA rules, regulations, and emergency procedures.
  • Understand and implement emergency procedures.
  • Report complaints and non-compliance issues to management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Skills/Experience
  • A minimum of 1 year of security or relevant experience is preferred.
  • Skilled problem solver with high attention to detail and a high sense of ethics and honesty.
  • Ability to respond swiftly to safety and emergency related situations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • General computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and the ability to learn and operate the property management software utilized by Action Property Management.
  • Must be 18 years of age and be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Physical ability to stand and sit for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting up to 35 pounds as needed
