To thrive as an Access Control Installer, you need a solid understanding of electrical systems, low-voltage wiring, and security hardware, often backed by a high school diploma or technical certification. What are Access Control Installers?

Access Control Installers are professionals who set up, configure, and maintain security systems that manage entry to buildings or specific areas. These systems often include electronic card readers, biometric scanners, keypad entry systems, and related software. Installers ensure that access control equipment works correctly, is integrated with other security systems, and complies with security protocols. They may also troubleshoot issues, perform regular maintenance, and educate clients on how to use their access control systems.

What are some common challenges Access Control Installers face on the job, and how can they be overcome?

Access Control Installers often encounter challenges such as integrating new systems with existing infrastructure, working in active environments where minimizing disruption is crucial, and troubleshooting hardware or software issues onsite. Effective communication with clients and other contractors can help clarify requirements and streamline installations. We are a one-stop shop for solutions that make your business, school, commercial facility, financial institution more secure, comfortable, and energy efficient. From design and planning to installation and service, we offer several essential services:
  • Access Control
  • Video Surveillance
  • Security Systems
OFFERING $1000 SIGN-ON BONUS. We are looking for a Master level Access Control Technician who has run a successful team and still enjoys rolling their sleeves up and doing the work. You must be able and willing to travel overnight, if necessary, to support our clients throughout Indiana. Our corporate office is in Lawrence, IN (only the far east side of Indianapolis, IN).
Who You Are:
โ€ข An understanding of how low-voltage systems come together from start to finish
โ€ข Hands-on experience with Access Control and Video systems is required

โ€ข Must be extremely organized and exhibit a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy
โ€ข A Collaborative work ethic
โ€ข A mindset of continuous education and improvement
What You Are Accountable For:
โ€ข Installing all types of systems, but if you think Hikvision is high-end, you likely would not fit in here. You should be comfortable wiring a single door access system by yourself and training the customer as well as running a crew to get 150 analytics cameras installed. We don't install many fire systems, but that is good experience too
โ€ข You have worked quite a bit with Avigilon and other enterprise security systems including ACM, Open Path, Pdk, Brivo and Paxton systems
โ€ข Real experience running a team and working solo on commercial installs
โ€ข You understand networks
โ€ข You get along with all types of personalities
Our Culture:
NO Interpretation Required -
We speak plainly, openly, honestly and bluntly. We say what we mean and mean what we say.
Simply Effective -
Sometimes the best solution is the simplest one. Always seek out the best solution.
No Jerks Allowed -
Life is too short to deal with jerks. Don't be one, Don't do business with one.
Find It and Fix It -
The problem is our enemy. Dig deep enough to find it, then fix it. Always.
Corners Have Rights -
We respect corners. Corners hold up buildings! We don't cut corners.
Why You'll Love Hoosier Security:
โ€ข Working with a team that values teamwork and growth in their profession!
โ€ข Competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance and company match to 401(k).
โ€ข 7 Paid Holidays each year.
โ€ข Competitive pay with additional incentives based on your role
โ€ข Paid time off that can be used for vacations, sick time, and personal days!
โ€ข Well-rounded approach to employee wellness with benefits such as free healthy snacks.
โ€ข Choice of Company Phone or using your own Phone with a monthly reimbursement!
โ€ข Ongoing employee engagement activities to promote a team atmosphere.
