The Work:
The Senior SAP RTR & Group Reporting Lead is responsible for leading the design, configuration, and delivery of end-to-end Record to Report processes within SAP S/4HANA, with specialized expertise in SAP Group Reporting for consolidated financial close. This role serves as a functional lead on large-scale SAP finance transformation programs, guiding clients through process harmonization, system design, and go-live readiness across the financial close and consolidation landscape.
Responsibilities:
RTR Process & Configuration
  • Lead design and configuration of core RTR processes including General Ledger (GL), Fixed Assets (AA), Intercompany (IC), Period-End Close, and Financial Reporting
  • Drive the design of the Universal Journal (ACDOCA) architecture and chart of accounts strategy in S/4HANA
  • Configure and optimize New GL functionality including document splitting, parallel ledgers, and profit center accounting
  • Lead intercompany reconciliation and elimination design, including IC matching and dispute management workflows
  • Support cash management, bank reconciliation, and payment run configuration where in scope

SAP Group Reporting
  • Lead end-to-end implementation of SAP Group Reporting (S/4HANA embedded consolidation), including: Consolidation unit and group hierarchy setup, data collection methods (pull from ACDOCA vs. manual upload), Intercompany eliminations and investment consolidation, currency translation and reclassification rules, consolidated financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
  • Define the consolidation close calendar and integration touchpoints with entity-level close
  • Advise clients on the transition from legacy consolidation tools (BPC, EC-CS, HFM, Cognos) to SAP Group Reporting

Program Delivery
  • Lead RTR and Group Reporting workstreams through full SAP Activate lifecycle: Discover, Prepare, Explore, Realize, Deploy, Run
  • Facilitate fit-to-standard workshops with client finance and accounting stakeholders
  • Author and maintain key design documents: BBPs, FSDs, configuration workbooks, and test scripts
  • Support data migration activities for GL open items, asset master data, and opening balances
  • Lead SIT, UAT, and cutover planning for RTR and consolidation scope

Client & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Engage CFO, Controller, and Corporate Accounting stakeholders as a trusted finance transformation advisor
  • Translate complex SAP configuration options into business-relevant design decisions
  • Manage client sign-off on RTR design decisions and track open issues through resolution

Travel may be required for this role. The amount of travel will vary from 0 to 100% depending on business need and client requirements
Here's What You Need:
  • Minimum of 12 years of SAP Finance functional experience, including full lifecycle S/4HANA implementations
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with SAP RTR processes including: GL, AA, Intercompany, and Period-End Close
  • Minimum of 8 years of hands-on configuration experience with SAP Group Reporting (S/4HANA embedded)
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with Universal Journal and S/4HANA finance architecture
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading fit-to-standard workshops and authoring functional design documents
  • Prior experience working for a large Advisory/Consulting firm (Big 4, global SI, or boutique SAP firm)
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (12 years) work experience (If an, Associate's Degree with 6 years of work experience)

Bonus Points if You Have:
  • You have experience migrating clients from BPC, EC-CS, or HFM to SAP Group Reporting
  • You have experience with SAP RISE / BTP landscape and integration considerations
  • You have experience with CPA, CMA, or equivalent accounting qualification requirements
  • You have experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance certification
