The Role in Brief:

Senior Product Manager, Agent & Automation Workflows

We are seeking a product manager to lead the development of intelligent workflows and automation capabilities within our platform. This role focuses on translating emerging technologies and product opportunities into practical, high-impact features that deliver measurable value to institutions and their students.

This product manager will work closely with engineering and design partners to define, prioritize, and deliver new product capabilities that streamline complex workflows, power intelligent automation, and enable more personalized user experiences. The role requires a strong bias toward execution, turning ideas into clear product plans and shipping high-quality features at a consistent pace.

In addition to driving delivery, this role will contribute to product discovery and market insight by evaluating industry trends, analyzing competitive solutions, and identifying opportunities to strengthen the platformโ€™s capabilities.

The ideal candidate is both a builder and a strategist, someone who enjoys working closely with development teams, bringing new ideas to life quickly, and ensuring that product investments deliver meaningful outcomes for users.

This position may be based in Washington D.C.; Richmond, VA; or is open to remote employment within the continental United States (with a preference to East Coast or willingness to work East Coast hours).

Primary Responsibilities:

Product Ownership & Execution

  • Own the roadmap and delivery for a key functional product area focused on automation, workflow orchestration, and intelligent product experiences.
  • Translate product strategy and user needs into clear product requirements, feature definitions, and implementation plans.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to scope work, define technical tradeoffs, and ensure successful delivery of product initiatives.
  • Maintain and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring that the team focuses on the highest-impact work.
  • Break complex initiatives into incremental deliverables that support consistent development velocity.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with engineering and design to rapidly prototype, test, and iterate on new product ideas.
  • Facilitate alignment across product, engineering, design, and leadership stakeholders on product direction and priorities.
  • Communicate product plans, progress, and outcomes clearly to internal partners.

Product Discovery & Market Awareness

  • Monitor industry trends, competitive solutions, and emerging product patterns to inform product direction.
  • Gather insights from customer feedback, usage data, and market research to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Help develop a fact base to support product investment decisions and roadmap prioritization.

Product Craft & Iteration

  • Use modern product tools to prototype ideas, model workflows, and communicate product concepts effectively.
  • Evaluate the success of delivered features through user feedback, product metrics, and adoption signals.
  • Continuously refine product capabilities based on real-world usage and evolving customer needs.

Product Evangelism

  • Serve as an internal advocate for the product area, helping teams understand the vision, value, and impact of new capabilities.
  • Support internal enablement efforts that help teams adopt and effectively leverage new product functionality.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in product management or a closely related role delivering software products.
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with engineering teams to ship product features from concept through release.
  • Experience managing product roadmaps, defining requirements, and prioritizing backlogs.
  • Strong ability to break down complex problems into actionable product plans.
  • Experience collaborating with designers and engineers to prototype and iterate on product ideas.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to align stakeholders around product decisions.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate product performance and incorporate user feedback into product improvements.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Experience building products that involve automation, workflows, or intelligent product behaviors.
  • Familiarity with modern approaches to product prototyping and experimentation using tools such as Figma or similar design platforms.
  • Experience working on products that incorporate emerging technologies such as AI-powered capabilities or conversational user experiences.
  • Ability to evaluate competitive solutions and synthesize market insights into actionable product opportunities.
  • Strong product judgment and the ability to make effective prioritization decisions in fast-moving environments.
  • Experience operating in agile product development environments with rapid iteration cycles.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance delivery speed with product quality and long-term product vision.
  • Commitment to embracing a continual learning environment and contributing to a dynamic and welcoming culture of fairness, authenticity, and belonging in support of EABโ€™s mission, values, and aspiration

If youโ€™ve reached this section of the job description and are unsure of whether to apply, please do! At EAB, we welcome new perspectives and learn from each otherโ€™s unique experiences. We would encourage you to submit an application if this is a role you would be passionate about doing every day.

Compensation:

The anticipated starting salary range for this role is $85,500 โ€“ $135,000 per year. Actual salary varies due to factors that may include but not be limited to relevant experience, skills, and location. At EAB, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the starting salary range for their role.

This hire will additionally be eligible for discretionary bonus or incentive compensation. Variable compensation may depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
