Responsibilities

THE ROLE: 

In this high-profile role, you will be the overall program leader for key engineering initiatives from concept to execution. You will work across all of engineering and business to meet overall initiative and/or product objectives.  

THE PERSON: 

The right candidate will have solid knowledge of technical program management, an outstanding track record of delivering sophisticated software/hardware programs, youwill also drive a schedule for business planning towards growth that align to business strategy 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Defines, plans and drives projects and program plans based on management and senior technical guidance 
  • Scope technical feasibility of new Products by clarifying and analyzing requirements with SW/HW Architects, Technical Leads and Engineers 
  • Develop program schedule by considering various Driver, SW Stack components and HW/FW dependencies, negotiate and create a staffing plan that supports the schedule 
  • Building, creating, and maintaining a well-developed, managed and executed program plan is critical 
  • You will establish formal program management artifacts including a plan of record, statements of work, project/program timelines, budget, scope, performance, and quality KPIs  
  • Excellence in resource planning is necessary 
  • The successful candidate must also plan for risks in the development path, identify prevention methods, and address them to save on engineering costs 
  • Being comfortable working with senior executives is a hard requirement. You must address the needs and requirements called upon from AMD's Engineering, Product Management and Customer Engineering organizations 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Good understanding of requirements management, documentation management, and defect management 
  • Ability to grasp concepts during discussions and turn minutes into action items 
  • Able to communicate concepts and processes with stakeholders 
  • Analytical, self-motivated, organized, detailed-oriented and results-oriented 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with multiple people and teams, ability to communicate progress to team members on a regular basis 
  • Experience working in a high-pressure environment and competing priorities and tight turnaround times 
  • Engineering background preferred 
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, JIRA, Confluence and Excel is an asset 
  • Experience with Agile methodology 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering 
  • Formal Project Management education, PMP certified
