JOB SUMMARY:
The Data Analyst is responsible for integrating the data such as medical claims, pharmacy claims and other medical management information from various sources and developing necessary reports to present the information in a clear, concise manner to meet the clients' needs. The Data Analyst will utilize data analysis tools to analyze data and communicate the results of analysis work to provide the necessary recommendations so that the issues are reduced to minimum. They will make recommendations to improve existing policies and assess cost-effectiveness.
JOB DUTIES:
  • Responsible for preparing reports and collecting data necessary for informed strategic decision making; reviewing claims and financial data from insurance providers, and working with physicians and clinical staff to support operational decision-making
  • Uses data analysis techniques, including Data/Trend Analysis, to identify and implement opportunities to improve health outcomes and lower medical costs
  • Utilize MS Office and other data analysis tools to perform assigned tasks
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to create and update reports
  • Perform other duties as required

Position Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree - Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Economics, Statistics or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree)
  • Must have at least one academic semester of coursework and/or academic research work experience which included exposure to and use of the following: Statistics, Economics, Corporate Finance, Healthcare Management and Data Analysis tools

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of creating data models and deploying reports with SSRS
  • Knowledgeable in industry best practices in data analysis and report creation
  • Expertise with query writing skills
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, including ability to interpret and explain data for a variety of audiences
  • Proven ability to work independently or in a collaborative team environment
  • Knowledgeable about the health care practices, terminology and different clinical specialties
  • Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to satisfactorily speak, read, write, and understand English for effective communication
  • Strong organizing, coordinating and multi-tasking abilities
  • Strong follow-up skills
  • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Practice Management (PM) systems are a plus
  • Knowledge of Smartsheet is a plus.
  • Excellent SQL knowledge.
  • Should be able to recognize and resolve data integrity issues.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of database design.

Experience
  • Experience in report development, documentation, testing and deployment
  • Extensive experience in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access)
  • Experience with MS SQL Server & MS Tools
  • Experience in development and deployment of SSIS / ETL packages.
  • Experience with development of source/target mappings, cleansing, transforming, and data loading.
  • Experience in Healthcare Informatics.
  • Performing Trend Analysis & Predictive Analysis for HealthCare Data.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
All work is performed within a standard health care/primary care clinical setting.
