What is an ACA Compliance?

An ACA Compliance job involves ensuring that a company adheres to the Affordable Care Act (ACA) regulations, including employer mandate requirements, healthcare reporting, and benefits compliance. Professionals in this role monitor employee health coverage, manage IRS filings such as Forms 1094-C and 1095-C, and stay updated on legislative changes. They often collaborate with HR, payroll, and legal teams to mitigate risks and avoid penalties for non-compliance.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in ACA Compliance?

To excel in ACA Compliance, professionals need a thorough knowledge of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) regulations, healthcare policy, and employer reporting requirements, often supported by a degree in business, human resources, or a related field. Familiarity with HR information systems, payroll software, and ACA compliance tools such as reporting platforms is common, and certifications like Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) can be advantageous. Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and effective communication skills distinguish top performers in this role. These competencies are crucial for ensuring organizations remain compliant with complex regulations, thereby avoiding costly penalties and supporting employee benefits administration.

What are the typical challenges faced in an ACA Compliance role, and how can I prepare for them?

Professionals in ACA Compliance frequently navigate challenges such as interpreting evolving regulations, managing large volumes of employee data, and ensuring timely, accurate reporting to governmental agencies. You'll often need to collaborate closely with HR, payroll, and legal teams to resolve discrepancies and implement new compliance procedures. Staying up to date with ACA reforms and developing strong organizational skills are key to overcoming these challenges. Proactively seeking out continuing education opportunities and networking with industry professionals can also help you stay ahead in this dynamic role.

Core Value Insurance Group LLC

Job description

At Core Value Insurance Group (CVIG), we don't just offer jobs-we build careers. We are currently seeking driven individuals to join our team as Medicare ACA Specialists, helping clients nationwide with Medicare and Affordable Care Act (ACA) enrollments over the phone. CVIG offers remote opportunities across the U.S., as well as in-office roles for those in the Philadelphia area.
With years of experience in the Medicare and ACA marketplace, CVIG is expanding its team of specialists. Unlike most brokerages, we provide more than just salary and commission-our agents earn renewals on their clients, creating long-term stability for CVIG, its clients, and its agents. We also provide best-in-class systems, training, coaching, and a family culture that promotes holistic prosperity.
This is not a cold-calling position. Specialists are provided with a steady stream of inbound, high-intent leads from individuals actively seeking coverage. If you're motivated to learn, eager to grow, and want to join a mission-driven, family-owned team, this is your opportunity.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct inbound phone consultations with individuals seeking Medicare or ACA coverage guidance.
  • Recommend coverage options tailored to clients' health, lifestyle, and financial needs.
  • Assist clients with enrollment through the Federally Facilitated Marketplace (FFM) and Pennie (PA marketplace).
  • Guide clients through subsidy eligibility, income verification, and plan comparisons.
  • Build lasting client relationships through exceptional service and ongoing support.
  • Accurately document client interactions in CRM systems while maintaining compliance with CMS and ACA regulations.
  • Support clients during Open Enrollment Periods (OEPs), Annual Enrollment Periods (AEPs), and Special Enrollment Periods (SEPs).
  • Stay current with marketplace and Medicare updates, compliance standards, and carrier requirements.
  • Contribute positively to a collaborative, family-oriented team culture.

Experience and Requirements
  • FFM (Federally Facilitated Marketplace) Certification required.
  • Experience with Pennie (Pennsylvania's marketplace) required.
  • 1+ year of experience selling Medicare and/or ACA products, with one full AEP or OEP completed.
  • Active Health Insurance License (Life License preferred but not required).
  • Strong understanding of health insurance terminology (deductibles, formularies, networks, etc.).
  • Proven ability to explain complex coverage options in a clear, client-friendly way.
  • Experience with electronic enrollment platforms and CRM tools.
  • Clean, professional, and controlled at-home working environment.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required.
  • Driven, competitive personality-CVIG is seeking top performers.
