Position Overview:
The Service Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining motorcoaches and other commercial vehicles. This role performs a wide range of mechanical and electrical repairs on diesel-powered motorcoaches and commercial vehicles, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain motorcoaches, commercial and non-commercial vehicles, and other equipment as directed.
  • Follow Cummins warranty processes and procedures, including proper documentation and claim requirements.
  • Interpret and apply technical manuals, service bulletins, and repair guidelines.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment free from hazards and unnecessary distractions.
  • Understand and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including EPA, OSHA, and DOT requirements.
  • Accurately document repairs on work orders using shop computers and associated software.
  • Maintain accurate time and attendance records.
  • Perform road calls when required, including travel to customer locations to diagnose and perform repairs.
  • Maintain a valid DOT Medical Card as required.
  • Continue developing technical knowledge and repair skills to support shop operations.
  • Demonstrate professionalism while upholding ABC’s core values.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • 2–4 years of diesel, motorcoach, transit bus, or heavy commercial vehicle repair experience preferred.
  • Diesel engine repair experience required
  • Motorcoach or transit bus experience preferred
  • CNG experience preferred, including knowledge of CNG fuel systems and troubleshooting CNG engines
  • Ability to perform troubleshooting and diagnostics to identify mechanical and electrical repair needs
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals and service documentation
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple repair tasks and priorities
  • Must possess the tools necessary to complete assigned responsibilities
  • Experience with body and frame repairs
  • Experience with interior component repair or replacement
  • Audio/Video system knowledge preferred but not required
  • Ability to identify parts required to complete vehicle repairs
  • CDL Class B preferred but not required
  • EPA 609 Certification preferred but not required
