Job Description:

Job Summary: Work in a team that assembles and installs sub-assemblies on commercial HVAC products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following is a list of the essential duties and responsibilities that are expected; however, additional duties may be assigned, as required.

  • Evacuates nitrogen charge using refrigerant gauges.
  • Selects and secures vacuum hoses to unit.
  • Installs vacuum gauges to unit and ensures unit is pulled down to the AAON approved micron level.
  • Removes vacuum hose and initiates refrigerant charge.
  • Sets proper unit charge at pump controls and initiates charge.
  • Removes charge hose.
  • Checks oil in pumps to ensure proper level is maintained.
  • Determines proper refrigerant charge using QC Parts list at the unit or the work order on the system.
  • Locates and secures parts for assigned assemblies to ensure production goals are met.
  • Completes operation check sheet form by entering vacuum and charge information and signing name.
  • Writes weekly unit number on unit for production scheduling.
  • Assembles and attaches lifting lugs to units.
  • Starts and shuts down pumps using proper procedures.
  • Maintains a safe and productive work area.
  • Trains new employees as needed.
  • Coordinates area activities with other sub-assembly areas.

Preferred Education and Experience:

It is preferred that an individual in this position has attained a minimum of HS graduate/GED to meet entry-level requirements. Education beyond the minimum is an added advantage for career development activities.

It is preferred that the individual will have a minimum of 6 months industry experience or equivalent experience in a similar industry.

Certification(s):Universal Refrigerant Certification; complete AAON training

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively with management and co-workers to achieve department and company goals.
  • Ability to complete duties in a safe and timely manner in accordance with quality standards and engineering specifications.
  • Practice good attendance.

Work Environment

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand up to 95 percent of work shift hours.
  • Ability to work in conditions below 32 degrees or above 90 degrees on occasion.
