Race Attendant

  • Location: Running Aces Casino Hotel Racetrack - 15201 Running Aces Blvd, Columbus, MN 55025
  • Schedule: Seasonal Full time

Purpose of the Race Attendant:

The Race Attendant is responsible for assisting the Security Department during the racing season.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist Security Officers with crowd management during racing events.
  • Provide assistance to patrons seeking assistance.
  • Checking and verifying IDs at external entry points.
  • Interacting with both guests and fellow employees.
  • Is able to use first aid response by providing assistance to Security Officers as needed for medical situations.
  • Assist Security Officers during track emergencies as needed for crowd control.
  • Greet guests entering the facility and provide support and directions.
  • May drive guest vehicle for Valet purposes.
  • Assist with breakdown of apron and atrium areas at the end of race program.
  • Assist guests with special needs to and from the facility or from place to place within the facility.
  • Monitor alcohol use among guests.
  • Assist with investigations of illegal activity.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to work effectively both individually and in a team environment.
  • Must be able to provide friendly, polity and courteous customer service when interacting with guests.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms.
  • Must project confidence to customers and employees and be able to resolve problems in stressful situations.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Knowledgeable of Company policies and procedures, including fire and safety regulations.
  • Must possess the ability to obtain a Minnesota Racing Commission gaming license

Physical, intellectual and environmental conditions:

  • Must have the ability to remain calm and professional at all times.
  • Regularly required to talk, hear and observe activity.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to push a disabled vehicle with assistance.
  • Some physical strength necessary.
  • Ability to lift 25lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to lift or move an incapacitated person with assistance.
  • Must be able to think quickly and dialogue with patrons and staff.
  • Must be able to solve problems in a courteous and professional manner when dealing with customers and employees.
  • Must be able to work in a noisy environment with varying light levels.
  • Required to work outside in all climates.
  • Work in a crowded, tense, chaotic, and occasionally hostile environment.
  • Able to work extended periods of time.
