INTAKE NOTES/ABOUT THE ROLE:
This position requires the ability to work as a member of the Oncor Testing Team for the SharePoint & Portal Project at the direction of the Manager and test leads. The individual must possess the experience to develop test plans/test cases/test scripts and to execute and record results using appropriate test tools. The primary focus will be utilizing qTest for test case management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Design and develop design test cases for web and desktop applications.
Review business, functional and design specifications to ensure full understanding of individual deliverables.
Identify testing requirements from specifications, map test case requirements and design test coverage.
Responsible for developing and executing Test Plans to ensure delivery of quality software that meets company specifications.
Identify any potential quality issues per defined process and escalate potential issues immediately to management.
Must be willing to work from the office. (this is not a remote only job)
May be required to travel to different Oncor service centers within the DFW area for testing requirements.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
8+ years of relevant testing experience conducting testing of critical customer facing applications.
College degree or equivalent
Experience with qTest and JIRA is an added advantage.
Must be flexible and willing to work late hours and weekends as required
NECESSARY SKILLS/COMPETENCIES - For this position the following skills and competencies must be demonstrated at a proficient level:
Experience with testing of web services is a must.
Must be well familiar with providing QA for mobile, web and back end services.
Proficient in testing SharePoint Portals and customer facing web pages.
ADA accessibility testing is preferred consisting of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) principles.
Ensuring compatibility with assistive technologies, providing sufficient color contrast, allowing for keyboard navigation, and providing alternative text for images is preferred.
Extensive backend testing, understands data mapping, ETL and write complex SQL/Procs is crucial due to the quantity of data involved in all ADE projects
Experience conducting usability tests, and an ability to empathize with users' unique perspectives.
Must be proficient in defining automation test cases and execution and scheduling of these automation scripts from the test case management tool
Test mobile applications across cellular phones and tablets
Someone capable of writing and executing manual tests for web and mobile applications.
Ability to understand and create test plans/cases from specifications or verbal communications.
Native app testing experience is a plus.
Help analyze and create test scenarios from functional requirements.
Proficient knowledge of Testing tools preferably qTest is a must.
Working knowledge of automation tools like Selenium or UFT is a must.
Possesses a demonstrated proficiency with tools like ALM, JIRA and all Microsoft Office applications is a must.
Knowledge on API and Micro services is required.
Able to work with a wide variety of personalities in a diverse work environment
Self-motivated and flexible to work in a fast-paced, lean environment, with "hands on" team player approach
Good written and oral communication skills, presentation and other customer-facing skills
Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to render good judgment and sound decisions or seek advice from peers or superiors
