Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of Dallas is a premier behavioral health hospital providing inpatient psychiatric treatment for children, adolescents, and senior adults. Located on 22 serene acres just outside the Dallas metroplex, our facility offers a safe, supportive, and empowering environment focused on delivering high-quality behavioral healthcare. Position Summary
Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of Dallas is seeking an A&R Mental Health Technician to perform complex social, therapeutic, and psychosocial intake services for incarcerated individuals participating in our diversion program. This position works under the supervision of the Director of Intake and collaborates closely with A&R Clinicians and Registered Nurses to support patients throughout the admissions and intake process. Strong customer service skills and effective communication are essential for success in this role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist A&R Clinicians and Registered Nurses with patient intake and admissions processes.
  • Coordinate and communicate with patients, families, referral sources, and community partners.
  • Monitor and document patient care and activities.
  • Assist with patient assessments and intake evaluations.
  • Escort patients throughout the facility as needed.
  • Support therapeutic and psychosocial services during the admission process.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and excellent customer service in all interactions.
  • Adherent to hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in behavioral health, mental health, social services, healthcare, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health practices and patient care principles preferred.

Required Experience:
  • At least one (1) year of related experience in psychiatric or behavioral health.
  • Psychiatric Technician: 1 year (Preferred)
