Job description

Job Title:   S.T.A.R.S. Program Instructor 

Locations:   Goodwill North Central Texas  --- 4005 Campus Dr., Fort Worth, Texas 

Salary:    Based on experience

Work Hours:    FT (40 Hrs. per Week) Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M.

Benefits:   Company paid basic term life, Paid Time Off, voluntary medical, dental, vision, STD, LTD and 401(k)

General Job Duties:   To motivate and supervise consumers in order for them to achieve maximum skills.  Create and facilitate preselected curriculum to use in assigned activity areas.  Monitor and document consumers’ progress.

Supervise and train consumers in daily living skills using instruction and hands-on demonstration to improve consumers’ skills for independent living.  Keep accurate and timely daily records of each consumer’s progress toward their individual goals.  Maintain the safety and security of consumers, activity areas, and supply inventory.  Work together as a team member to be sure that the S.T.A.R.S program runs efficiently and to the enhancement of all team members. 

Skills/Qualifications:   Must meet MHMRTC credentialing requirements.  Good interpersonal skills and adaptability to change preferred; supervisory skills and experience working with disabled or disadvantaged individuals.  Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Physical Requirements: The job will require mobility, light lifting, and good communication skills.

Legal Requirements:    Documentation to satisfy I-9 requirements, pass a background check, and drug screen.  Candidate must meet staff qualifications as outlined by MHMR.
