Job description

Company Description Christian Beginnings is a preschool, morning 9-month and full day - year round programs, headquartered at 824 Waukegan Road in Deerfield, Illinois, United States. A licensed preschool but as a non-profit, we focus on small size classrooms and low child/teacher ratios. We offer a typical early childhood experience but from a faith perspective that each person is loved and cared for by God.

Role Description This full-time, on-site Admin Assistant / Teacher, located in Deerfield, IL and combines administrative support with classroom responsibilities. Day-to-day tasks include managing front office operations, answering phones, handling basic correspondence, maintaining records, and supporting scheduling and clerical duties. In the preschool classroom, the role consists of implementing age-appropriate activities, supervising children, supporting lesson preparation, and helping to maintain a safe, welcoming learning environment. The position collaborates closely with teaching staff and leadership to ensure smooth daily operations and consistent communication with families.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Administrative Assistance and Clerical Skills to support office operations and recordkeeping.
  • Candidates should possess professional Phone Etiquette and Communication skills for interacting with families, colleagues, and external contacts.
  • Candidates should possess Executive Administrative Assistance capabilities for scheduling, organizing documents, and supporting leadership as needed.
  • Two years of experience working with preschool-age children or in an early childhood setting.
  • Ability to maintain a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment for children and families.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and reliability in a fast-paced setting.
  • IDEC Teacher and Director Qualified (or working toward Director Qualification).
