Job description

GroundUP Restaurants is a local Lincoln restaurant group seeking an experienced, reliable general maintenance technician to join our team.


KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Daily Upkeep

  • Check with store managers for any building or equipment issues (electrical, plumbing, broken fixtures, etc.).

Equipment Care

  • Strong familiarity with the repair and maintenance of commercial restaurant equipment (fryers, griddles, ovens, dishwashers, refrigeration units, hoods).
  • Maintain service and cleaning schedules for equipment to prevent breakdowns.

Building Maintenance

  • Basic Plumbing: fix leaky faucets, unclog toilets, replace flush valves, clear slow drains
  • Basic Electrical: reset tripped breakers, replace outlets and switches, replace bulbs and fixtures
  • General Carpentry & Hardware: fix/replace door hinges, drywall patching, repairing/assembling restaurant furniture, addressing basic floor/tile issues

Safety

  • restocking first aid stations
  • test emergency lighting and smoke/CO2 detectors

Scheduling Service & Repair

  • respond to repair and maintenance requests in a timely fashion
  • calling and scheduling a specialized technician for situations requiring such

Emergency Maintenance Response

  • Issues can arise at any time and as the primary contact, the maintenance tech will need to be able to respond to situations outside of normal work hours if needed

SKILLS

  • Ability to problem-solve
  • Strong time/management skills
  • Strong organizational skills (prioritizing requests)
  • Proficient with hand and power tools
  • General knowledge and understanding of building maintenance and repair
  • Basic knowledge of commercial restaurant equipment
  • Familiar with local, state and OSHA standards
  • Handle the physicality of the job: lift 50 lbs., bending, pushing, pulling equipment, climbing 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Experience in building and equipment maintenance is highly preferred
  • Any related certifications are a plus
