Description
UGM considers every position one of ministry and a vital and valued part of our team. Therefore, it is essential that all employees of UGM have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and subscribe to our Statement of Faith and Core Values. Additionally, employees must be willing to lead and/or participate in Bible study, prayer, devotions and sharing the Gospel.
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Drive the truck to pick up donations and transport inventory between store locations. Operate forklift to manage inventory in the stores. Fulfill baling duties and assist with production duties when assigned.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key Result Area #1 Driving, Loading, and Unloading Donations
  • Drive truck safely, maintain awareness of surroundings and observe traffic regulations.
  • Complete daily pickup schedule arranged by Donation Coordinator.
  • Implement donation guidelines; graciously turn down unacceptable items.
  • Load and unload items in a safe, efficient manner to protect donations from damage in transit.
  • Finish each donation pickup by completing the submission on Resupply App before leaving donor's residence.
  • Maintain good communication with Director of In-Kind Donation, Donation Coordinator and Store Manager.
  • Ensure vehicles are clean and in good condition, with fluids and tires checked before driving.

Key Result Area #2: Receiving
  • Assist donors by making immediate assessment of donations and unloading acceptable items.
  • Implement donation guidelines; graciously turn down unacceptable items.
  • Prepare a receipt for donors as needed and distribute newsletter or other advertisements.
  • Separate donated items into designated categories, with another inspection for acceptability.

Key Result Area #3: Warehousing
  • Fulfill baling duties, observing safety guidelines and performing routine daily maintenance.
  • Operate forklift to manage inventory, observing safety guidelines and performing daily maintenance.
  • Sort and prepare items for recycling, i.e. cardboard, copper, aluminum, steel, tin and brass.
  • Assist with production duties when assigned.
  • Perform outside cleaning duties, i.e. pickup/ empty trash, snow removal, de-icing, sweeping, etc.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Valid Washington (or Idaho) driver's license - required.
  • At least five (5) years' clean driving record and insurable by our standards - required.
  • Excellent communication skills including written, oral, and instructional.
  • Prove to be teachable and organized with the ability to manage multiple projects/tasks at once; able to listen and follow instructions.
  • Ability to work standing for up to 8 hours a day, seven days a week
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL FACTORS:
Occasionally = 1%-33%; Frequently = 34%-66%; Continuously = 67%-100%
  • Work indoors and outdoors, requires climbing stairs, sitting, standing, bending, and reaching - continuously.
  • Requires a sustained level of high energy, stamina, and the ability to move about the store, customer homes and businesses on a regular and ongoing basis - continuously.
  • Requires the ability to hear, see, and speak clearly - continuously.

EQUIPMENT/TOOLS USED:
  • Variety of tools used in the pricing and production process, i.e. pricing guns, steamers, z-racks, clothing racks and displays, forklift, carts, etc.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Five (5) years' driving experience.
