Position Overview
The Crusher Laborer is responsible for safely performing a variety of construction duties related to working on conveyors,assisting with the production of aggregates at various on-site plant locations. This position involves various manual tasks and ability to travel when required. Work will be performed per the supervisor's instruction, free from direct supervision except for more complicated jobs.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently by utilizing equipment within its designed parameters. Equipment can include but is not limited to: front-end wheel loader, skid steer, etc.
  • Perform general clean-up, maintenance and housekeeping tasks at the crusher.
  • Shovel excess materials from around conveyors and other areas to prevent build up.
  • Operate loader to supply materials to the crusher plant trucks.
  • Drive haul truck to transport and dump crushed rock within the plant.
  • Perform general maintenance (i.e. oiling, greasing plant equipment) as directed and refer major problems to the supervisor.
  • Keep machines cleaned and maintained.
  • Keep time and material records.
  • Routinely assist other members of the work force in different areas of production.
  • Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.
  • Regular and timely attendance.
  • Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Mechanical skills or aptitude.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical exam and pre-employment-controlled substance testing.
  • Safety minded professional who demonstrates good performance, attendance and punctuality.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently, without direct supervision.
  • Demonstrates the willingness to work overtime and weekends/holidays as needed.
  • Demonstrates the willingness to learn and work a variety of job tasks.
  • Demonstrates the ability to conform to and maintain OSHA, MSHA, DOT and all other company or state rules and regulations.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions

Preferred Requirements
  • Equipment operation and/or mechanical skills highly preferred.
  • Previous construction or related experience preferred.
