Title:METAL FABRICATION
Department: Career & Technical Education (CTE)
Education- High school diploma (minimal), associate degree or higher (preferred) from an accredited institution, OR hold a valid standard five-year renewable CTE license in the Manufacturing Career Pathway.
Work Experience- High school diploma: 5 years of verifiable related work experience.
- Associate degree: 2 years of verifiable related work experience in the last 10 years.
- Bachelor's degree or higher: 1 year of verifiable related work experience in the last 10 years.
- OR a valid 5-year Mississippi teaching license in the Manufacturing Career Pathway (no experience required).
Reports to: CTE Director
Job Goal: As the Metal Fabrication Instructor, you will provide students with engaging, hands-on instruction in metal fabrication, manufacturing processes, workplace safety, and industry-standard practices. Assist students build the technical and employability skills necessary for postsecondary education and entry into the workforce.
Typical Duties & Responsibilities- Deliver instruction in welding and metal fabrication (Machining), including SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, cutting processes, and blueprint reading in accordance to Miss State RCU Curriculum guidelines
- Maintain a safe, organized, and industry-standard lab environment
- Prepare students for industry-recognized certifications (e.g., AWS, NCCER)
- Integrate academic and employability skills into daily instruction
- Utilize project-based learning and real-world applications
- Assess student progress and maintain accurate records
- Build partnerships with local business and industry to support workforce alignment
- Support student participation in CTSOs such as SkillsUSA
- Collaborate with staff to promote student success and career readiness
- Ensure compliance with district, state, and safety requirements
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 190 days. Salary for this position shall be commensurate with the years of experience as determined under the policies and procedures of the Moss Point School District and in accordance with the pay scale.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board of Trustees' policy on evaluation of District personnel.
