A 403(b) job refers to employment with an organization that offers a 403(b) retirement plan, typically available to employees of public schools, non-profits, and certain religious organizations. This tax-advantaged plan allows workers to contribute pre-tax income toward their retirement savings, often with employer matching contributions. Familiarity with retirement plan administration software, IRS compliance systems, and financial analysis tools is typically required. Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly help set top performers apart. These skills ensure accurate plan management, regulatory compliance, and strong client trust in managing retirement assets.
