Overview

Engineering Technician 1 - 3rd Shift

LOCATION: Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL

JOB STATUS: Full Time

CLEARANCE: Secret

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Technician for the RTC Test and Engineering Services (RTES) Contract supporting the Army Division.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS

  • This position is for 3rd shift, including weekends. DO NOT APPLY FOR THIS POSITION IF YOU ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR A 3rd SHIFT WORK SCHEDULE.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Capable of working in hazardous environments, including extreme temperatures.
  • Capable of obtaining and maintaining explosive certification level II.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Associates degree in a technical field.
  • Experience with PLCs.
  • Previous experience working as a technician.
  • Technical writing skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work as part of a team of technicians and operators to conduct environmental testing.
  • Ensure that all instrumentation/test equipment is properly maintained and set up.
  • Monitor tests and record data, using both manual and automated means, and perform data compliance and consistency checks.
  • Ensure that simulated environments such as rain, salt, fog, high and low temperature, high and low humidity, altitude, etc. are properly calibrated and maintained.
  • Ensure that all instrumentation/test equipment is properly maintained and set up.
  • Monitor tests and record data, using both manual and automated means, and perform data compliance and consistency checks.
  • Create documents that pertain to test failures and anomalies.
  • Perform routine checks on equipment for visual issues or maintenance needs.
  • Communicate with engineers, technicians, and customers to discover and develop requirements, with the goal of optimizing and improving current and future processes.
