Job Brief
Kable Workforce Solutions is hiring a Mechanics - Level 3 Technician for our client. This job is responsible for performing advanced mechanical, electrical, and controls maintenance in a food manufacturing environment. This role builds upon Level I and Level II responsibilities and requires expertise in PLCs, VFDs, control systems, sanitary TIG welding, advanced troubleshooting, and industrial automation. The Level III Technician will also support equipment reliability, mentor junior technicians, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
What’s a Typical Day Like?
- Perform all duties and responsibilities of Level I and Level II Mechanics.
- Perform sanitary TIG welding and purge welding on stainless steel piping and polished surfaces.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.
- Maintain and troubleshoot VFDs, PLCs, touch screens, and 24VDC control systems.
- Read and interpret American and European electrical schematics.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated production equipment.
- Support advanced manufacturing equipment, including packaging equipment, HVAC systems, boilers, ovens, burners, fryers, refrigeration systems, robotics, and PLC-controlled machinery.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability.
- Train and mentor less experienced maintenance technicians.
- Perform preventative maintenance and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What Are the Requirements of the Job?
- Vocational training in Mechanical, Electrical, or Welding Technology preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Must possess all Level I and Level II mechanical and electrical competencies.
- Experience with PLCs, VFDs, industrial controls, automation, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Ability to perform sanitary TIG welding and stainless steel fabrication.
- Experience with industrial refrigeration, HVAC, packaging equipment, boilers, burners, or robotics is preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and leadership skills.
- Ability to train and mentor maintenance technicians.
- Must have good attendance, communication skills, and a strong work ethic.
- Self-motivated with a sense of urgency and willingness to learn.
- Must have own tools.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
- Ability to move or lift up to 50+ lbs.
- Ability to reach, grasp, hold, push, pull, bend, twist, squat, climb, kneel.
- Ability to utilize hand/eye coordination.
- Capability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Communication skills.
