Miscellaneous Metal Painter - Material Handler

Position Overview:
The role of the Miscellaneous Metal Painter is expected to locate and transport components, prepare, and apply protective coatings to fabricate steel and other metals to spray to precise tolerances and detail specifications, using different types of paint. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of documented experience in high volume commercial or industrial paint spraying, including but not limited to hazardous material handling, PPE & respirator use, overhead crane rigging & operations, and forklift operations. Additionally, in this role you will assist with general material handling throughout production phases. This position is being offered to local candidates within a 25-mile radius. Per Diem and relocation are not being offered. Entry level candidates will not be considered for this position.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining a safe work environment for self and team members.
  • Read and interpret shop drawings, load list and other documents for painting specifications.
  • Determining what materials, tools and equipment are necessary to perform the tasks.
  • Identifying and selecting proper procedures, materials and settings.
  • Performs a pre-use inspection of the machinery, equipment and components.
  • Performs basic preventive maintenance (i.e., cleaning, lubrication, etc.).
  • Organizes workflow in terms of priority, material, and load times.
  • Overhead crane & forklift operations.
  • Adherence to all work safety policies, procedures and governing requirements.

Requirements:
  • Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 3 - 5 years documented experience as a Structural Steel or Miscellaneous Metals Painter/ Material Handler.
  • Proven ability to use & troubleshoot compressors, equipment, read and interpret shop drawings/load lists.
  • Must be committed to organizational safety.
  • Must have the ability to work independently as well as a team structure.
  • Ability to work year-round in extreme temperature variations.
  • Must have reliable transportation and live within a 25-mile radius.
  • Candidates are required to successfully pass pre-employment screenings including background check, physical examination, and substance abuse screenings.
