The Data Center Support Technician is responsible for providing hands-on technical support within a data center environment. This role involves monitoring and maintaining critical infrastructure, handling support requests, and ensuring efficient ticket resolution. The technician will work closely with the support team to troubleshoot hardware, network, and system issues while maintaining operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
  • Helpdesk & Ticket Management
    • Respond to and resolve customer support requests within SLA guidelines.
    • Monitor support queues, update ticket statuses, and ensure timely follow-ups.
    • Escalate complex issues to senior technicians or the Support Lead as needed.
  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting
    • Perform basic hardware troubleshooting, replacements, and installations.
    • Assist in diagnosing and resolving server, network, and infrastructure issues.
    • Conduct system checks and respond to alerts related to data center operations.
  • Infrastructure & Data Center Maintenance
    • Assist with equipment installations, cable management, and hardware audits.
    • Ensure the data center environment is maintained, including cleanliness and organization.
    • Perform walkthroughs to inspect infrastructure and identify potential issues.
  • Shift Handoff & Documentation
    • Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and customer interactions accurately.
    • Provide clear handoff notes to the next shift for seamless transitions.
  • Emergency & On-Call Support
    • Assist in emergency scenarios under the direction of the Support Lead or Manager.
    • Participate in weekend on-call rotations as required.
  • Needed Shift
    • Upon successful completion of onboarding & training we are looking for 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift coverage that includes weekends as we operate 24x7x365.

Qualifications & Skills
  • 1+ years of experience in a data center, IT support, or helpdesk role.
  • Basic knowledge of hardware troubleshooting, networking, and server environments.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and IT support processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment as needed (e.g., servers, networking gear).
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and on-call rotations.
