PRIMARY FUNCTION

Warehouse Manager oversees operations at a warehouse or storage facility to ensure that all incoming material is processed and stored according to standard operating procedures and outgoing material is processed on time in accordance with (IAW) customer requirements. This is a 1st shift position

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manage warehouse supervisors and associates, monitoring work to ensure all requirements are met

  • Establish warehouse best practices and protocols to achieve an efficient warehouse operation

  • Set team goals in collaboration with executive management and other team leads

  • Monitor workplace performance and lead training initiatives to improve employee skillset

  • Ensure all personnel training requirements are met IAW all training systems

  • Ensure all personnel meet prescribed safety guidelines

  • Communicate with other departments to build effective relationships

  • Understand 3PL contractual metrics and address any non-compliances

  • Appropriately manage Quality Assurance discrepancy reports and provide timely responses

  • Determine root cause and corrective actions as required

  • Lead cross-functional meetings with customers as required

  • Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has direct reports

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Skill using Microsoft Office Suite; intermediate level skills with MS Project or other project scheduling related software required.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as DOD regulations, OSHA requirements, and Command Media.

  • Proficient in warehouse best practices, policies, and procedures.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to provide good leadership qualities such as coaching, mentoring, and motivating employees.

  • Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.

  • Ability to deliver effective feedback, both written and verbal. Must be able to effectively communicate issues to management and customers.

  • Ability to recommend policy and procedure updates to management.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff.

  • Will also routinely interact with external contacts such as customers, vendors, suppliers, security, facilities, safety, production operations, PP&C etc.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of company staff.

  • Must be trustworthy - will manage confidential information routinely.

  • Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, etc.

  • Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up.

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to evaluate data and consider decision impact across multiple areas.

  • Strong decision analysis and critical thinking skills; ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions.

  • Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to goals.

  • Manages employee performance including but not limited to attendance, vacation, employee separations, annual review, merit process, and documentation.

  • Experience in collaborating with a represented workforce is a plus.

  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma best practices is a plus.

  • Experience in supporting customer audits is a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelor's degree in business administration, process management, or operations with 7+ years of experience
Previous government contracting experience managing a multi-million-dollar budget
Ability to pass a drug and background screening
Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
