Position Location: 211 Travis Ln, Waukesha, WI 53189

Position Hours: 1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM Monday - Friday

Position Wage: $18.00 - $25.20 per hour

Job Description:

The Finishing Operator is responsible for performing several critical peripheral support operations on both the front amp; back end of heat treat processing. In order to prepare parts for processing, the finishing operator performs no-carb masking, lot ID etching, amp; load makeup. After heat treatment, the finishing operator performs blast cleaning operations as well as final packaging.

Job Duties amp; Responsibilities:

  • Mask parts with no-carb masking paints to retard the carburization/hardening process in designated areas as specified by product prints and/or provided visual guides
  • Set up furnace loads by counting out specific quantities of parts per provided order instructions
  • Etch parts with order information in designated areas to provide heat treat lot traceability. This may be performed before or after heat treat processing depending on specification.
  • Place parts into heat treat alloy fixtures amp; prepare loads for running in furnace, ensuring that load count amp; part configuration is correct prior to loading
  • Assist in breaking down furnace loads after processing
  • Perform final cleaning operations using either spinner/hanger, tumble, or table blast equipment as required by order instructions
  • Perform final counts on orders as parts are cleaned amp; packaged, verifying any associated part ID markings (lot#, heat code, part#, etc.) t ensure that order quantities match the customer PO requirements
  • Place parts back in customer packaging according to customer specifications
  • Inspect all parts as they are handled for any types of damage - this is performed on both the front amp; back end of processing
  • Advanced operators of this position will assist in final inspection functions at the request of shift supervisors
  • Ensure plant organization amp; cleanliness

    Minimum Requirements:

Employment of Foreign Persons(s) [22 CFR 120.63] will be contingent on receiving the DSP-5 license from the US State Department.
    • All hires are contingent upon a 9-panel hair follicle drug test amp; background check.
    • May be required to obtain and maintain forklift operation certification
    • May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.

    Physical amp; Mental Demands: The following physical and mental demands consist of but are not limited to the following:

    • Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods in a non-climate controlled industrial environment
    • Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions.
    • Capable of lifting and carrying at least 25-pound objects throughout shift
    • Must be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, humidity, etc.
    • Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
    • Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
    • Must demonstrate the ability to perform fundamental mathematical skills and concepts (e.g. addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, percentages, and the basics of algebra and geometry).
    • Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
    • Ability to hear in person and via phone.

    Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred

    Experience: Prior factory work or Heat-Treating finishing experience preferred
