Job description

The RN Occupational Health Nurse works on site at the Boeing Jetplex Medical Clinic providing medical
services and assistance to employees of Boeing to include coordination of exams, substance abuse
testing, medical records management, injury management and general medical support.


• Treat and stabilize occupational injuries; refer for medical care when applicable, and follow up or injured workers
• Conduct vital signs and blood glucose exams. Recognize abnormalities, then stabilize, treat and refer.
• Maintain current BLS/CPR and AED certification.
• Coordinates medical emergencies with onsite Security Department.
• Completes OSHA 101 first reports of injury in dedicated MIS system.
• Reports occupational injuries to Insurance Carrier; workers compensation insurance company and follows up with injured worker and manager as appropriate. Communicates status with Workers Compensation Insurance adjuster keeping up to date on treatment plan and supporting documentation.
• Files and maintains medical records.
• Processes insurance claims and paperwork.
• Performs Titmus vision and coordinates hearing exams, on-site drug testing and refers employees to personal doctor for additional assessment if needed.
• Coordinates with onsite management and personnel for injury investigation and reporting.
• Conducts accident investigations to assist EHS.
• Attend blood borne pathogen training.
• Schedules surveillance exams with local and off-site employees.
• Performs all other duties as assigned to support Boeing/Comp1One and maintain all required training.
• Maintains and stocks supplies.
• Applies Boeing medical policies and procedures.
• Coordinates medical issues and concerns with Boeing Medical Director, SHEA, and designated contacts in Medial Management Team as needed.
• Consults with Boeing Medical Director and Medical Management Team for complicated medical issues.
• Performs other duties as assigned which are related to health, wellness or medical safety.
• Provides on-site emergency response, assistance, and coordination


Education Required
• Graduate from an accredited School or University required.
   

Education Preferred
• BSN preferred.
   

License, Certification and/or Registration
• Current Alabama or Multistate Nursing license required.
• Must possess a valid Alabama driver license.
• Will be required to become certified in drug and alcohol Federal Collections.
• BLS/CPR and AED Certification Experience
• Minimum of two years clinical experience preferred.
• Occupational health experience preferred.
• Knowledge of workers compensation preferred.

Additional Skills/Abilities
• Must have excellent communication and training skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly.
• Must be proficient in use of computer, to include email and Microsoft business software.
• Must be competent in writing, preparing and giving presentations.
• Must be familiar with Alabama workers compensation laws to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
