About The Role
HP IQ's Product Design Engineering team is responsible for ideating, designing, engineering, and creating the next generation of connected, AI-powered products driving the future of intelligent devices. The PD team is integral in defining products, working closely with industrial designers, hardware engineers, software engineers, and interaction designers to bring ideas to life. We value creativity and breaking down barriers. We iterate, iterate, and iterate again until it's right. We seek passionate individuals who aren't afraid to step outside their comfort zone.
What You Might Do
  • Design and develop cutting-edge intelligent devices
  • Drive product development with our manufacturing partners; some travel abroad may be required
  • Build prototypes, test them to failure, and iterate quickly
  • Help define and drive the product roadmap and timelines

Essential Qualifications
  • 5+ years mechanical design experience
  • Experience using 3D CAD (NX preferred) to design densely packaged electronic devices: PCBs, flexes, antennas, and batteries, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of various materials and scalable manufacturing processes
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, MS a plus

Preferred Skills
  • Experience building complex electronic products
  • Ability to independently manage tasks and clearly communicate issues and needs
  • Passion for working on highly creative, fast-paced, and collaborative teams alongside industrial designers, hardware engineers, and UX designers
  • Comfortable designing slides and making presentations to the leadership team
  • Familiarity with multiple product and project development disciplines, their dependencies, and how they interact
  • Desire to work in a collaborative environment where honesty and accountability are paramount

Salary: $132,000- $230,000
